On November 7, 2005, eight Democratic candidates for Newark City Council pledged in a newspaper ad to:
1 - Return city council meetings to televised broadcast
2 - Provide timely information on council deliberations at the city web site
Here it is, April 19, 2007.
1 - There has never been a televised council meeting in all that time. There has not been a serious public discussion of the possibilities for doing that.
2 - The most recent council minutes posted today on the city web site are from March 5, 2007.
Campaign promises blown off. Trusting voters submarined.
Nice work, Democrats.
