It seems that America is about to get another President who's been purchased and paid for by 1) corporations (McCain) or 2) big-city ("give me more free stuff") voting blocks (Obama or Clinton), and 3) those with a conquer-the-Middle-East mindset. Maybe get a ration of 4) gun-control and 5) government dole for homosexuals as bonus items. If Americans fail to stand up, it's going to happen.
Go compare them at Glassbooth web site, and you'll see how bleak it looks for America's political future:
Obama favors cutting a deal for criminal immigrants, abortion, homosexual marriage and the government benefits thereto, gun control, and is neutral on long-term occupation of Iraq.
Hillary favors cutting a deal for criminal immigrants, abortion, homosexual marriage and the government benefits thereto, gun control, and is neutral on long-term occupation of Iraq.
McCain favors cutting a deal for criminal immigrants, opposes abortion, opposes homosexual marriage and government benefits thereto, is iffy on gun control, supports long-term occupation of Iraq.
Huckabee is neutral on cutting a deal for criminal immigrants, opposes abortion, opposes homosexual marriage and government benefits thereto, opposes gun control, supports long-term occupation of Iraq.
Paul opposes deals for criminal immigrants, opposes abortion, is neutral on homosexual marriage but opposed to government benefits for them, strongly opposed to gun control, strongly opposes long-term occupation of Iraq.
The problem with that score sheet is this: The Number One best candidate, Ron Paul, isn't going to get close; The Number two best candidate, Mike Huckabee, isn't either.
Unless Americans start caring enough to make themselves heard on issues and candidates, we're going to get a President who is as bad or worse than the one we have now.

ReplyDeleteHumbly, I ask you to please research further...
Go to http://www.barackobama.com/pdf/ObamaBlueprintForChange.pdf for information for his plans.
As we are the UNITED States of America, a democracy with many diverse cultures and beliefs, we will NEVER locate an individual who will make us happy on all issues. However, we do need to determine which candidate will be able to strengthen our country overall, with respect, compassion, and yes... compromise.
Young people want college.
Families want health care for their children.
Elderly want secure retirements.
Workers want living wages.
Businesses want profits.
States want funded mandates without federal micromanagement.
We all want secure borders and a strong military.
Which candidate do you think will be able to bring us all to the table, without giving one entity the biggest plate?
It's easy to look at some of these issues from one side only and have knee-jerk reactions... (Argh! Gun control! There go my hunting rifles!)... without further examining the whole picture (the suggested plan is reasonable) ... and recognizing what happens without some type of solution to the problem (how many children are you willing to sacrifice to gun violence in order to buy handguns in bulk for your collection?)
We should all be willing to compromise... I promise not to force abortions on your daughters... don't prevent my daughter from accessing a SAFE and legal one, if (God forbid) she felt that was her only option.
I promise not to insist that your home protection handgun and deer rifle are confiscated... if you will help me prevent the local gang from accessing assualt weapons...
I promise to support immigration reform if you'll recognize that my husband needs his crew to bring in the hay, to feed the cows, that put the milk on your table in the morning.
It would be nice if those who believe "civil unions" are threats to the "American family" would spend more energy on rounding up deadbeat parents who abandon or deny support to their children, men who beat their wives, and the lack of resources for drug/alcohol addictions. What would folks say if we had laws that included the same consequences for an abortion as they do for adultery? I would be willing to bet that more men cheat on their wives than women have abortions? How many sperm donors of aborted fetuses were actually married to another woman at the time of conception? I know of one this summer... he LIED to the woman about his marital status... until he found out she was pregnant. OOOPS! So, can we throw them BOTH in jail??
Anyway... my point is... nobody will be 100% happy... but we CAN find compromise for a better America for our children...
I did as you suggested. I researched Obama on criminal aliens from Mexico. Here's what it said:
ReplyDelete“The time to fix our broken immigration system is now. ... We need stronger enforcement on the border and at the workplace. ... But for reform to work, we also must respond to what pulls people to America.
"... Where we can reunite families, we should. Where we can bring in more foreign-born workers with the skills our economy needs, we should.”
--Barack Obama, Statement on U.S. Senate Floor,
May 23, 2007BARACk OBAMA’S PLAN FOR IMMIGRATION REFORM
That's enough research. In all due respect, I'm reporting back to you that he's full of it, as are most liberals.
Sorry.
