Ohio government workers will begin showing accountability

Ohio Governor Strickland is telling state employees to show up at 8 a.m. and work until 5, thus changing the policy of letting them work "nontraditional" schedules (like not even working on Fridays) and/or telecommuting (meaning not showing up for work at all).

Employees are whining that the new work schedule is not "family friendly." Oh dear.

The governor has decided it's time to ensure "the best possible public service and taxpayer accountability," according to a Dispatch news report today.

Hooray for the governor. By returning state workers to their offices, maybe they'll get the idea that they work for us, not the other way around.
