GM refuses public-money bribes
Tax credits and grants of more than $56 million weren't enough to keep General Motors' plant near Dayton in business. AP reported yesterday that GM has refused a $54-million "job retention tax credit" and a $2-million "rapid outreach grant" and will depart by 2010, leaving 2,400 persons without jobs. What might interest Ohio taxpayers is how many millions (if any) GM had already sucked out of Ohio's behind-the-scenes bribe money. AP also failed to report who authorizes the gifting of business with public funds.
