Victims of Mr. Slime Ball, protect yourselves

Folks in Newark who are letting the much-publicized slime ball get into their homes, beat, and rob them have only themselves to blame. Thanks to the NRA, the Ohio legislature and Governor Strickland, Ohio has a law that is aimed at stopping this abuse, but it requires citizens to assume responsibility for their own welfare and stop relying on government to keep them safe.

I'm talking about the relatively recent passage of the Castle Doctrine law which provides that folks attacked in their homes can use reasonable force, which can include deadly force, to protect their - or another's - life without any duty to retreat from the attacker. See a general discussion of this concept at this link.

The NRA summarizes it best: "Castle Doctrine, in essence, simply places into law what is a fundamental right: self-defense. If a person is in a place he or she has a right to be — in the front yard, on the road, working in their office, strolling in the park—and is confronted by an armed predator, he or she can respond in force in defense of their lives." Read it here.

All this means that folks in Newark being terrorized by some cowardly punk need to stop relying on "government" to protect them. "Government" has given its permission for folks to protect themselves - as though such a "right" should ever have been called into question in the first place.

So, older folks, grow a pair, get some serious guns, take aim and let the little freak get a real dose of citizens protecting themselves.
