Meddling in, but not funding for, public education
State Rep. Jay Hottinger writes in a recent newspaper column that among his priorities is the increase of “our focus on science, technology, engineering and math skills” among high school students. More meddling in curricula when what Jay and his friends at the Statehouse have steadfastly avoided is to provide adequate funding for schools and let educators decide classroom matters.
