Newark Mayor Bain wrote in Friday's Advocate that city unions working in tandem with his honor the mayor are responsible for somehow "stabilizing the city budget" because they all have placed "the good of the city above themselves."
During this entire campaign speech aimed at city employees he never once mentioned the million dollar rape of city taxpayers as being a factor in his shiny new take on the city budget.
It's a shame. I think the mayor and council members ought to preface every statement they make about the shiny new budget by quoting my essay of July 8, 2007 entitled "Riding to the hospital with your city employees: Bend over taxpayer..."
That will provide an accurate context for whatever they say next.
