About photos ...

A truly special gallery was recently unveiled by Rich Bergeman at this link, where one section includes many beautiful and sort of surreal images created by the manipulation of print emulsion. Rich is probably the nation's leading practitioner of this technique and the beauty of his work is stunning.

He also has sections devoted to scenics, some of them from abandoned places. They are photos that draw viewers in and hold their attention, making them worthy of anyone's wall.

Rich is among the former residents of Newark whose gallery is among those at the Newark Tea Party at this link.

If you enjoy the old photos at Newark Tea Party - for example the Beauties Gallery and the Replay Gallery you'll probably like to look at some photos from the 1950's by Bruce Mozert, who shot pin-up photos underwater to demonstrate the clarity of the water at Silver Springs, Florida. They are on the Smithsonian web site at this link.

----

By the way, the set of newspaper clippings with captions of the Beauties of the Week, is now accessible from the Beauty Galleries index page.

----

Also, don't forget about the outstanding journalistic photo sites I mentioned here earlier - Photos of the Day, for instance - at the Washington Post site.

  1. Hi Bruce--

I was wondering if you'd consider writing an occasional article on Newark Ohio Online:

I'm always looking for someone to write about what is happening in and around Newark.

    Thanks!
